At First Church, we believe that the journey of faith is one of lifelong learning – questioning and probing our doubts and certainties so we might hear the God who still speaks to the world today. Through the course of the year, we meet together in various settings to explore our faith through bible study, book groups, discussions, and DVD-series.
WEDNESDAYS, BEGINNING JANUARY 8, 10:45AM – NOON
For some people, the New Year is a time for new resolutions and positive change, but for others that change can seem scary and quite uncomfortable. At the root of change and our sometimes avoidance of it is fear, but God has not called us to be a people of fear—God has called us to be a people of hope. Starting January 8, you’re invited to join Associate Minister Antigoné Lowery in the Library at 10:45am for a 7-week study of Pursuing Hope in which we will explore how biblical figures such as John the Baptist and Sarah, the mother of Isaac, choose hope over fear in order to experience the fullness of what God has for them and their lives.
