The Food Cupboard provides supervised distribution of groceries to local people and families in need. The Food Cupboard is open on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 until 11:30 AM.
Volunteers from First Church take care of a flower garden at Grace Park in memory of Liz Jones. Liz was a beloved member that passed away in January 2000. The garden is located along Perkins Street, on the northern border of the park, just a few blocks from First Church. The plot is part of Keep Akron Beautiful's Adopt-a-site program. The flower garden will be planted again next year in May. Anyone interested in participating, contact the church at 330-253-5109.
