Children’s Choir

First Congregational has an active music program for children, and encourages all children to participate, learn, and enjoy making music both in singing and in learning basic musical skills. The church also has a collection of Orff instruments which are used in the program. The Children’s Choir sings in the 11am worship service at various times in the church season and meets for rehearsal from September through May under the direction of Valerie Niese Stewart as follows:

FIRST, SECOND, FOURTH AND FIFTH SUNDAYS OF EACH MONTH

Children’s Choir for grades 1-7 sings after the second worship service for 30 minutes in the 2nd floor Old Temple classroom.

THIRD SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH

After Thoughts for the Young with Pastor Nanette in the 11am worship service, all children are invited to join Church School classes focused on musical expression and singing on the second floor in two age-appropriate classes. There is no additional choir after worship on this day.
