Evening Bible Study

At First Church, we believe that the journey of faith is one of lifelong learning – questioning and probing our doubts and certainties so we might hear the God who still speaks to the world today. Through the course of the year, we meet together in various settings to explore our faith through bible study, book groups, discussions, and DVD-series. To curb the spread of COVID-19 and until further notice we are not hosting in-person meetings.

We’re meeting remotely on zoom each Wednesday evening, from 7-8:30pm. To attend a meeting, please RSVP to Kasey Kalchert / 330.253.5109 ext 112, by 5pm each Wednesday. You will receive a zoom link in your email to join the conversation.S

Wednesdays in October, 7-8:30pm on zoom. Register now.
Be a part of conversation about the studies of Dr John Dominic Crossan who delves into Jesus’ historical landscape to unearth the forces that shaped Jesus’ circumstances and message. Sharing brief DVD presentations each week, we’ll gain an understanding of the multi-faceted connections between Greece, Rome and the Jews that shape our understanding of Jesus today.

In this series, Dr. Corssan “…doesn’t just supply us with the all-important historical context – although simply doing that would be a great gift. What he does is bring that context to glorious life. A genuine triumph of deepl scholarship and brilliant pedagogy” (Peter Laarman). To join the conversation, please register today!
