In less than two months, children will be returning to school. This can mean a lot of pressure, both socially and financially, on families to be able to purchase new supplies for children. In an effort to help as many area families start the school year off on the right foot, First Church will be collecting school supplies that will be distributed through our Feeding Hope Food Pantry beginning mid-August. Items of high importance include:

Backpacks
Crayons (16-pack)
Glue Sticks
Pocket Folders
Pencil Pouches
#2 Pencils
Washable Markers
Colored Pencils
Rulers with Standard and Metric Units
Notebook Paper (Wide and College Ruled)
Blue and Black Ball Point Pens
Boxes of Tissues

Backpack Blessing, August 14, 9am & 11am

At both our 9am and 11am services on August 14 we will have a backpack blessing. At these services, children of the church are invited to bring their backpacks and school supplies to worship where we will bless them so that they may have a year full of learning, joy, and safety. We will also be blessing all of the school supplies we collected for distribution through our food pantry so be sure to join us as we bless the children of our church and our local community!
