Your gift is an investment in the future of the church and the people we serve here at First Church, in Akron, and beyond. Online giving makes it easy to support First Church when you are out of town or on vacation, and can help simplify your regular gifts. Thank you for your offering!
Online giving allows you to set up an automatic donation plan from your credit or debit card, or make a one-time donation. The donation page allows you to designate your payment for one or more ministry effort.
We are currently in the planning phase for our 2020-21 ministry and missions budget. If you would like to pledge the amount you plan to donate in the next calendar year, we would be blessed! Pledging helps the church plan ahead and so is greatly appreciated. Please print the pledge form and return it to the church.
Donate from your Smartphone
First Church now offers a mobile version of our online giving page to make it easy for you to give anytime from your smart phone. Simply scan the image you see below (or to the left) using your phone’s QR code reader.

Including First Church in your estate planning is one way you can ensure that the spiritual community you treasure will be a treasure for future generations. It can be as easy as adding language to your will or living trust. Here is an example: “I give First Congregational Church of Akron, a non-profit religous organization, located at 292 E Market Street, Akron OH 44308 (Federal Tax ID No:34-0714664) or its sucessor thereto, _____________ (designate a written dollar amount, a percentage of the estate, or a description of property or items) for its _____________ (unrestricted use – for operations – or restricted use in support of a specific named ministry).”
Please contact our Finance and Operations Manager, Janis Worley at 330.253.5109 x131 or email email@example.com to discuss your plans.
Downsizing or redecorating? We would be interested in learning more if you have any of the following items for us to consider. If accepted, all donations will become the property of the church to be used, displayed, stored, or removed at our discretion.
Furniture – round table with chairs (seats 8-10), bookshelves, end tables, coffee tables, office chairs, file cabinets
Precious artwork – a lasting legacy that would be on a display rotation
Everyday silverware sets
8′ rectangular white tablecloths
General office supplies – scissors, scotch tape, pens, pencils, packing tape, highlighters, markers, file folders, post-it notes, staplers
