JOB OPENING: LEAD MUSICIAN

First Church is looking for a Lead Musician to encourage the congregation’s worship of God through music and song. This position will be responsible for planning worship music for the 9 a.m. Sunday worship services and special worship services, in collaboration with the Senior Minister. Specifically, providing vocal, guitar or keyboard leadership, rehearsing and directing the worship team. Additional duties include selecting and purchasing music, fostering a spirit of affirmation and welcome in the worship team, liaising with the AV technicians to support livestreaming, and managing instrument maintenance.
The ideal candidate is able to work collaboratively with others, is engaged in their personal journey of faith and has an abiding appreciation of the values and traditions of the Christian faith. They are accomplished as a guitarist / keyboardist and vocalist with at least five years of experience in music performance or worship team leadership and a background in sacred music.
Additional Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor of Arts in Music or related field preferred.
- Has a clear vision and understanding of the role of music in worship as distinct from concert performance and appreciates the relationship between music and spoken word in creating a worshipful experience that enables our praise of God.
- Relevant experience, including demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, listen effectively, work with and motivate volunteers while creating an atmosphere of cooperation and community.
- Can maintain strict confidentiality.
- Able to work effectively with diverse cultures and ethnicities, all levels of socioeconomic status, gender identities and expressions, and sexual orientations.
- Effective administration skills and working knowledge of a music notation program and Microsoft Office Professional.

JOB OPENING: EVENT SUPPORT
First Church is looking for a reliable person to support our Sunday morning worship services, Wednesday evening faith enrichment programs and other church events year-round.
This position will be responsible for opening and closing the building, and preparing clean and safe entrances by picking up litter, putting out signs, and shoveling sidewalks in winter. This position will also be available to assist members, guests and staff, prior to, during, and after events with building-related questions or needs, and will help guests find venues or events and/or direct their inquiries. Additional duties include equipment set-up and take down for worship services, dinners, events, and meetings (signs, chairs, tables, risers, lecterns), stocking restrooms, providing assistance with sweeping, cleaning, mopping before, during, or after events, and taking out the trash following an event. This position will also support, as necessary, with food service and event related tasks in the kitchen or dining areas.
The ideal candidate will be trustworthy, and exhibit positive interpersonal skills, with an ability to multi-task and problem-solve, and display enthusiasm for the church and its mission.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience in hospitality or facility cleaning.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and complete mobility for required activities.
- Dependable, responsible, and self-motivated. Must have regular timely attendance during stated or negotiated hours.

JOB OPENING: CHILDCARE WORKER
First Church is looking for a dependable person to support our children’s programs on Sunday mornings, during Wednesday evening faith enrichment programs, and at other church events year-round.
This position will be responsible for creating an affirming and safe environment where children are cared for and nurtured and where the Christian faith is practiced and taught. Additional duties include ensuring the security and safekeeping of all infants and children, including completing and filing all necessary paperwork and receiving and sharing information with supervisor and parents/guardians. Be responsible for keeping the childcare rooms clean and safe both before, during, and after shifts. This position would also provide a warm and hospitable welcome for prospective and returning families, while working cooperatively with other staff and volunteers.
The ideal candidate will be trustworthy, responsible, and self-motivated, and exhibit positive interpersonal skills, with an ability to maintain confidentiality and objectivity, while displaying enthusiasm for the church and its mission.

• First Aid and CPR certification, preferred.
