First Church is looking for high level administrative support to the Senior Minister, which will in turn, support congregational vitality. This position will be required to maintain complete confidentiality while supporting the Senior Minister, managing the Senior Minister’s office, calendar, email, and phone correspondence, organizing daily activities and workflow, and serving as the first point of contact for visitors and guests of the Senior Minister and church. Additionally, this position will provide support in the preparation of worship materials for weekly services and special events, and will maintain church membership records and database. This position, in coordination with others, will assist with the production of internal and external messaging through Mailchimp and social media platforms, and the creation and distribution of mass direct mail pieces.
Additional Qualifications and Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in communications, liberal arts, business administration, or related field, preferred.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, database management, spreadsheet and design software (Adobe preferred) with proficiency in website management software (WordPress, preferred).
• Strong organizational skills with an ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, manage time, and meet project deadlines.
• Competency with social medial platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and LinkedIn.

This position will oversee and direct facility staff, serve as liaison and coordinator of external rental events, and be responsible for general operations and procedures of the church office, such as managing incoming mail, office supply inventory, general purchasing, and maintenance of office equipment (telephone, copiers, computer systems). This position will support administratively the Senior Minister in overseeing human resource needs, and the Finance and Communications Manager with needed finance-related tasks.
Additional Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, non-profit management, accounting, or related field, required.
- Two to five years administrative, office, or business management experience, required.
- Human resources training and management experience, preferred.

First Church seeks a Videographer and AV Technician who can configure, operate, and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment for worship and other events. The ideal candidate will also have the skills and experience to develop, record, edit, and produce additional digital content for events and marketing. The ideal candidate will be able to operate PTZ cameras, a video switcher and soundboard. They will have experience setting up audio visual equipment and troubleshooting problems They will be adept at editing software tools such as Logic Pro, Final Cut, Adobe Audition, and Adobe Premiere.

JOB OPENING: PARISH VISITOR

First Church seeks a Parish Visitor to provide visitation and counsel to First Church members and attendees. This position will be responsible for visiting homebound, elderly, and hospitalized individuals, will share emergency “on call” duties with ministerial staff, offer counseling and resource information to individuals in time of crisis, coordinate and/or lead group pastoral care opportunities, create and maintain a Pastoral Care report and serve as liaison to the Congregational Care Team, and will occasionally participate in memorial services and Sunday worship upon request of the Senior Minister.
The ideal candidate is able to work collaboratively with others, has a desire to serve and a heart for Geriatric-related justice and pastoral care concerns, has strong interpersonal communication skills, and is a person of strong and evident Christian faith. This position will require regular travel and transport to meet those in need of visitation.
Additional Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED and college degree required, must also possess Master’s level degree in social work, counseling, or related field; and/or is a certified professional Chaplain according to an accredited institution (ACPE/APC).
- Has at least two years of experience in pastoral care, visitation, and small group facilitation.
- Can maintain strict confidentiality and objectivity.
- Is self-motivated and able to work independently as well as on a team, including demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, listen effectively, and manage time and tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Able to work effectively with diverse cultures and ethnicities, all levels of socioeconomic status, gender identities and expressions, and sexual orientations.
- Abides by the Ordained Minister’s Code of the Unite Church of Christ or an equivalent denomination.
- Effective administration skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional.
