On Saturday, May 18 from 9a-3p and Sunday, May 19 from 12p-3p First Church and Let’s Grow Akron will be co-hosting a plant sale at First Church, 292 East Market Street, Akron OH 44308. In addition, on Saturday, May 18, there will also be a Maker’s Market with a variety of local vendors and artisans for shoppers to visit, as well as a Stuff Your Own Bag event hosted by Dress For Success Cleveland.

The plant sale will consist of organically grown seedlings ready for planting in your summer garden. There will be vegetable seedlings including tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, greens and squash available, as well as annual and perennial seedlings, herbs, and native pollinator plants. Throughout the event there will be Let’s Grow Akron staff on site to answer your gardening questions. Proceeds from the plant sale will benefit the partnership between First Church Feed My Sheep Garden ministry and Let’s Grow Akron. This partnership strengthens access to fresh foods in Akron through the First Church weekly Food Pantry and provides community development opportunities within the community by teaching growing and food preservation techniques.
