CANAPI
CANAPI, a combination effort between the Community Aids Network (est. 1996) and the Akron Pride Initiative (est. 1998), has provided education, awareness and outreach to the HIV/AIDS and LGBTQ community of Greater Akron since January 2010.

Equality Ohio
Equality Ohio was founded in 2005 by a group of 65 dedicated LGBTQ activists and allies from all corners of Ohio after voters passed a constitutional amendment prohibiting same sex marriage and civil unions.  Today, Equality Ohio advocates and educates to achieve fair treatment and equal opportunity for all Ohioans regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity or expression  Equality Ohio Education Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that advocates and educates to achieve fair treatment and equal opportunity for all Ohioans regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity or expression. Equality Ohio is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization that advocates and educates to achieve fair treatment and equal opportunity for all Ohioans regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity or expression.

PFLAG
Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning (LGBTQ) People is the nation’s foremost family-based organization committed to the civil rights of LGBTQ people. The organization was launched in New York City in 1973 by parents who stood up for their gay children.  PFLAG’s mission is to create a better future for LGBTQ youth and adults through a partnership of parents, allies, and LGBT people.

Planned Parenthood LGBT Information
Information for teens from Planned Parenthood about LGBTQ: learning about your body, what do the terms mean, figuring out your sexual orientation  and gender identity, coming out, how to deal with homophobia and bullying.

Soul Force
According to this organization’s statement of purpose, “Soulforce’s goal is to turn this world upside down and inside out in the name of justice and equity for folks across all marginalized racial, sexual, and gender identities. We seek to do the kind of collective activism that makes our souls burst as we free ourselves from spiritual violence.” This site offers an invitation to join in its efforts towards education, advocacy, and political action through nonviolent actions.  Founded by author and minister Mel White (also see http://melwhite.org/lgbt-resources).

Straight for Equality
Straight for Equality is a national outreach and education project created in 2007 by PFLAG National to empower new straight allies who, unlike a more traditional PFLAG member, don’t necessarily have a family connection to the gay community.

Teen Pride Network
The Teen PRIDE Network is a collaborative project between PFLAG Akron, CANAPI, GLSEN Northeast Ohio and the UUCA. Their mission is to provide safe activities and places for those teens in the Greater Akron area who are suffering from a sense of isolation or a negative environment in their school, family units and smaller communities. TPN aims to provide safe places and positive, engaging activities to give teens opportunities to meet other LGBTQ teens, allies and caring adults.
